Specificity of modern times is that gradual reduction in the cost of technology have lead us to situation, where these stuff, that once were accessible in some exploratory private laboratories, now became available and on their basis you can build your very own systems.

In general framework of art history (classical art or new media particularly) this brings to certain revival of trends.

Take VR as example, that was developed in America at 60’s , in MIT laboratories, but now, because of general availability, it receive so many users, therefore, fresh impetus.

Today the same thing has been happening with the radio.

Because of digital technologies radio became so accessible, that now, to put it crudely, have turned into insignificant gadget that comes with computer.

All that gains hybrid nature - it’s old technology, but in combination with the new ones create something that was never seen before.

Oxana As part of your project #hero you’ve touched burning subject of canonization of the army by both warring groups through the language of generative programs.

How does ukrainian viewer interprets your complicated art, build on metaphors, concepts, and here and there harsh musical experiments, and after all, are you expecting comprehension from mediocre ukrainians, who not involved in art world?

Anton Yes, I trying to create in meaningful way, and because my media art is not an attraction, usually it can looks dull for the viewer.You must really get it, yeah, that’s the problem.

While using complex technology you must find such a simple form of message, which at the same time is accessible and maybe ironic, in some way, while viewer has to caught the statement immediately.

Media art can’t be as quick to perceive as a picture - it takes time to immerse yourself in it.

For instance, I have noticed even for myself that earlier I used to listen to the music regardless of anything, and now basic way to consume the music is to turn it as background noise, when you work on something.

Today spending one hour, doing nothing, just to listen an album it is a luxury.

That is the problem of finding the relevant language, especially in Ukraine environment, where people just surviving and trying to earn for a living, and here the problem, that no one want see, been thrown in their face.

Basic survival, finding resources for living and home, that we have lost , these issues concern to me the most, as well as to my friends.

It was my natural evolution that has been obtained by events of my life.

That’s why I cannot say nothing about it, maybe just haven’t quite understand how to find the accessible language to talk about it.

Yes, for unprepared audience it can be quite hard.
