  • Butterflies go through a life cycle that contains four stages.
  • In the first stage, a female butterfly lays eggs on a leaf.
  • The eggs are very small, and they can't be seen without using a magnifire.
  • After five days, a tiny worm like creature, that is called caterpillar (larve), hatches out of the eggs.
  • Then caterpillar starts to feed on the leaves and flowers.
  • It grows so fast because it eats all the time, and has become too fat.
  • In the next stage, it finds a safe and cozy place to make a chrysalis (pupa) around itself.
  • It's mostly green or brown to camouflage with the trees, leaves, or branches and the other animals can't see it.
  • In this stage caterpillar begins to change.
  • Little by little it grows and turns into a butterfly.
  • At last, the chrysalias opens and a very beautiful butterfly comes out.
  • But it can't fly because its wings are damped and floded.
  • It should rest for a short time to the wings have expanded and dried.
  • After learning the ability to fly, the butterfly starts to look for food and also a mate.
  • Then the lifestyle will be started again.
