    • Please provide a short statement of intent (approximately 300 words) indicating your reasons for wanting to pursue MSc thesis based program.
    • Since I was an undergraduate student in the department of Energy Resources Engineering, I experienced various activities related to Petroleum Engineering with my interest.
    • Except for what I wrote in the above sections, I joined Inha Petroleum Students Club and learned about Enhanced Oil Recovery and the basics of unconventional resources.
    • Through these experiences, I believe that conventional resources are already developed to some extent, whereas Unconventional resources, such as tight oil and oil sands, should and will have more improvement than conventional resources in the future.
    • With such an idea, I am interested in developing technology and methods for economic and improved recovery of oil and gas.
    • To be a successful engineer in Enhanced Oil Recovery, I believe that it will be difficult to study deeper knowledge in Korea, which do not develop any unconventional resources.
    • For those reasons, I firmly decided to go to Calgary of University, which is famous for Unconventional resources and have a number of researches about this field.
    • Furthermore, I also specialized in Offshore Plant Engineering as my interdisciplinary major.
  • Through various classes I took in other departments such as Chemical Engineering and Naval Architecture, I broadened my view beyond my knowledge in petroleum.
  • Therefore, with my engineering experience, I would like to enhance my comprehension in the future graduate program and be actively engaged in my future research.
  • My final goal is to produce valuable results of research and to become the acknowledged leader in the field of Unconventional resources.
