Retelling of the text about Glooskap
- This legend was about Glooskap, turtle, about the toad and porcupine, who lost their noses.
- In the old time in the light before the sun.
- Glooskap and his brother were as yet unborn.
- They waited a day to appear.
- Glooskap doesn’t want to wait and he broke through his mothers side, he rent the wall; his beginning of life was his mothers dead.
- Nothing could hurt the Glooskap, he was the lord of men and beats, his tribe was all.
- In it the Great Golden Eagle was a chief, he married a female Caribou.
- The turtle was his uncle.
- He married a doughter of the Golden Eagle and Caribou.
- Of all these things there are many and long traditions.
- When the turtle married, Glooskap talked to him to make a feast with grand banquet and he gives him great power.
- He talked to him go to the sea and take a whale.
- But only take a whale and he set a mark or an appointed space and bade him not go an inch beyond it.

- He sat down by two witches (the Porcupine and Toad) And he asked humbly how they expected to kill him.
- What is that to thee and what is that to thee and what hast thou to do with this thing - asked the witches.
- Glooskap in the shape of the squaw answered that he don’t meant no harm and he touched the tips of they noses.
- Witches was frightened, their noses were both gone and have none for this day.
- Glooskap had two dogs.
- But then the Glooskap left them, they howl and wail, because they love the master so greatly.
- Nowadays they cry at nights over the lonely lake and in the forests.
