  • My trip in Australia

  • I went to Australia for two months because I had a gap year program there.
    • I am convinced that a gap year is very good to improve your language skills and finally to speak much more fluently English.
  • Moreover, Australia is a very good destination because this country is a nation of diversity, there are multicultural people and beautiful landscapes.
    • It's 20 hours by plane with a stopover in Bangkok, but it's worth it!
  • First, I would like to talk about the travel arrangements of my gap year.
  • First, I had to fill out many application forms in English to the different schools.
  • I had to book the ticket at the travel agency and it was necessary to have the currency of Australia (Australian Dollar).
  • Finally, I had to apply for a visa.
    • The luggage may not weight more than 20 kilos.
    • Of course, in Australia I had to wear summer clothes, as shorts, trousers, flip-flops, shirts, etc. I brought to my host family typical Belgium specialities, for instance: beer, chocolates, etc. During my stay in Australia, I ate delicious Australian meals because my host family was very good cooking.
    • Moreover, there are a lot of varieties of fruit juices.
    • I often drank cocktails with my friends.
  • I also ate a typical Australian meal as a grilled or fried beef steak or lamb chops accompanied with potatoes and vegetables or a salad.
    • I made a lot of friends during my journey and we have stayed good friends.
    • Very friendly English students studied at the same school as me.
    • I liked hanged out with those friends and I enjoyed extracurricular activities with them.
    • I often joined them around the dinner table and I shared meals with them and I gave them news about my different day activities.
    • Furthermore, we made some sport activities as surf, bike or soccer.
  • Some months later… What a surprise !
  • My friends have just arrived in Belgium.
    • Of course, we have made this time a lot of activities together in Belgium.
    • For instance : we have played tennis, afterwards we have gone to the mall and finally we have eaten on the Grand-Place in front of the City Hall of Brussels.
  • Tomorrow, we will visit Bruges, the most beautiful town of Belgium.
  • Afterwards, we will return to Brussels to watch a movie in the evening.
    • To conclude, I am persuaded that to visit a country as Australia is very good, not only to speak but also to read and write in English.
    • Moreover, such a travel is a very good opportunity for a lot of other reasons as to meet multicultural people, to discover the generosity of the inhabitants, to enjoy the nice weather, etc. Australia is of course very far and the choice of this destination asks for a lot of investments and courage but I shall never regret this trip.
