  • Alternative reserves for fuel production

    • Globally, as the years past, there is a great demand of Petroleum to aid the needs of the world and its people's lifestyle and so virgin places are yet to be uncovered to search for any means.
    • In my impression, I disagree with it because of the potential hazardous effects it brings into the environment and the availability of alternative reserves.
    • There are various reasons why we do not need to intrude other places to produce gas and oil.
    • First environmental risk like global warming, it is detrimental to climate change and to our surroundings because of excessive build up of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere affecting weather conditions and so businesses in Agriculture, Fishery and many others may suffer.
  • Second, the health of the locals, animals and plants are at stake.
    • Moreover, if local and international firms will go forward to explore more of these resources, there will be massive air, water and air pollution.
    • Particularly, one example of it was in year 2006, the oil spillage of oil tanker M/T Solar 1 in Guimaras and Negros straits of the Philippines.
    • It was considered the worst spilled fuel in my country, hundreds of fishes and sea animals were killed and endangered marine life and their habitat.
  • In addition, industrial operations such as mining, deforestation and many others will cause extinction of wild animals and reduction of local jobs.
  • Moreover, there are other options that could be utilized by industries to supply power in the area like energy sources from solar, wind and turbine plants.
  • For instance, at my residence, we use windmill to provide electricity to different places which helps in our daily lives.
  • In summary, it is necessary to preserve untouched lands to hold the solid ground for future generations by the possible options we accept rather than accessing reserves that may harm mankind.
