  • Sentence correction.

  • Hi !
    • We have an assignment in our english class to write a short story .
    • I am writing on relationships.
    • I have doubt on the following sentence.
    • "The argument got heated and she picked up the vase from the table and threw it at him, but in doing so dropped her phone on the floor" In this sentence I have doubt if the usage of "but in doing so" is correct or is there any other phrase I can use to describe the situation.
    • How would a native speaker would describe such a situation to a friend?
  • Someone on the chat suggested that I should replace the phrase with "In the process", but it sounds a bit formal to me.
    • The phone slip is important to highlight the anger and the phone on the ground brings an intersting twist to the story later.

PLEASE, HELP TO CORRECT EACH SENTENCE! - English
