  • This paper is a comparative analysis of two essays.
    • First of them is “Civil Disobedience”, which Henry David Thoreau wrote during his short stay in jail in 1849.
    • The court judged he could go at large after he considered himself as transcendentalist .
    • Thoreau’s incarceration pushed him to write the essay wherein he explains extensively his ideology and philosophy of life.
    • He describes his reasons why he doesn’t want to pay pool tax but what is more important he deals with the issue of civil disobedience.
