Why must russian schoolchilren study two foreign languages?

I turned on TV box.

A speaker said that our government had decided to streamline school education and very soon pupils would have to learn two languages.

In this text I will try to tell you why I disapprove of the decision.

At first, let's talk regarding the way of native language teaching.

One cannot deny that it's reasonably strange because pupils start studying Russian at a very early age.

They come to school and first text book they get is Russian one.

By finishing secondary school they have been cramming their native Language for 9 years!

But indeed, they are not often aware of where to write comma.

Some of them began studying at higher school where all they need is to prepare for the Russian National Examination.

In a word, teaching native language at our schools is a complete failure.

In this situation we are demanded to learn a foreign language.

There is the same thing about teaching a foreign language(English).

I need to admit that only at capital schools you will have learnt English by graduating.

It doesn't mean you will be speak English just like native speakers.

But producing simple sentences like I've just read the book.It's interesting.

I can bring it to you will be likely within your power.

As to town schools it's quite improbable that you will speak English .

Moreover you can't know how to tell your name to your interlocutor because there is not an English teacher at your school. It's true.

Our public servants want to make us study TWO FOREIGN languages when learning ONE language is challenging.Think about it and pay attention to towns and countries where English is taught, if at all, by history teacher!
