  • About technologies in a classroom

    • Well, in my opinion, technologies simplify the learning process and that is why it is important for a teacher to get to know with them.
    • As for me, I like to use modern technologies in my work as well as in everyday life.
    • I especially like the opportunity to search anything I need on the Internet.
    • There is no doubt that a modern teacher should be experienced in the questions how to use Internet, computer, audio and video in a classroom.
    • The same is relevant to the Presentation Projector, that is why a teacher should be proficient in Computer software, for example Microsoft Products (such as Office, PowerPoint, Excel and so on).
    • Unfortunately, I have no experience of working with whiteboards or smartboards, but if have an opportunity to employ them for a classroom work , I will learn how to do it as soon as possible.
    • During my internship I often used a computer to show the PowerPoint presentations or prepare listening or video tasks.
    • I think that all these technologies are wonderful and powerful tools in a proficient and creative teacher’s hands.
  • However, I need to add one very important remark.
    • On the one hand, I know and appreciate all the opportunities modern technologies bring in the classroom.
    • On the other hand, I am sure, that all these technologies should help in a teacher’s work, but never replace a teacher himself.
    • And where it is possible to do without them, where it is possible to support authentic dialog and communication between the learners and between a teacher and the learners, I just welcome it.
    • And what is more, maybe it is not appropriate, I do not support the idea of using the gadgets, such as tablets and mobile phones during the lesson all the time.
    • During my internship I saw how some students became obsessed of their gadgets: they used electronic copies instead of paper ones, and, you know, it is not very comfortable.
    • I just do not understand how it is possible to write on the PDF-files, underline necessary information etc. So, I’ve introduced the rule for them to use paper copies where it is possible.
