Bipolar
- Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder also know as manic-depressive illness.
- It has a serious effects in patients' daily lives, relationships and emotions.
- Bipolar does not have exact cause but research indicate some factors that could contribute simultaneously.
- The chance will be higher if the person has first-degree relatives with bipolar because of the genetics which is one of these factors.
- Furthermore, Environmental factors also play a role especially alcohol, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, losing significant friend or family member ,mental stress. bipolar has four mood episodes: mania, hypomania, depression, and mixed episodes.
- Each episode have different sings and symptoms, making them usually suffer severe fluctuations in mood.
- For the first one they sleep little but feel highly energetic, unable to concentrate, Impaired judgment and impulsiveness.
- At the last episode the symptoms are mixed of the three first episodes .The common symptoms include depression combined with agitation, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, distractibility, and racing thoughts.
- The difference in emotions results high risk of suicide.
- Bipolar disorder requires long-term treatment.
- With effective combination of medication, therapy, altered lifestyle and society support.
