  • 12 Years a Slave

    • The movie “12 Years a Slave” plays in 1841, while the black people were free in the south but slaved in the north of America.
    • For that reason people kidnapped African-American people and sold them to slave trader in the north.
  • Solomon Northup is a free African-American man, who lives with his wife and his two children in Saratoga Springs.
  • One day two man trapped him with a job when he will travel to Washington D.C for two weeks.
  • Once there, they set him on drugs and sold him to a slave trader.
  • They shipped him to New Orleans.
    • From that time on he was slavery for about 12 years but he fight and so a man named Bass helped him to write a letter to his family and so he gets a free man again.
  • He returns to his family and his grant son Solomon Northup Staunton.
    • Before I saw this movie I known a little bit about slavery but this movie showed in a dramatically way how bad and exploiting this was for the black people and I really feel bad when I am thinking about that in the present still people with black skin get discriminate.
  • This movie shows the most important part of the history of America – the slavery.
    • Not only because of this fact but also about the fact that it is on true occurrence turn this movie to an extremely stretching ones for me.
    • I think it is really important to produce such movies to show all people in the world that we have to fight against cruel things no matter if it is happened in past or in present time.
