A Certain Goal, a Meaningful Life
- When I was watching the video of salmon’s life experience, I could not help crying.
- The life of salmon is filled with dangers.
- They go through thick and thin just for growing up, heading to the sea.
- No matter how hard it is, even at the expense of their lives, they would go back to the birthplace and give birth to their babies.
- They live their lives in this way generation after generation.
- Some people think it’s because of heredity.
- However, in my eyes, it is the goal that makes them act so.
- It seems that salmon has a short life, but its life shines with gorgeous light.
- Thinking of that, I am suddenly ashamed of that I don’t have a goal.
- As a junior student, I should have already made good plans for my future.
- Do I need to study further, or to find a job?
- I have no answer.
- I remember when this semester just started, I was very disappointed about the living condition in our college, so I decided to study further and get my master’s degree.
- But after knowing that it is difficult to become a postgraduate, my mind was shaken.
- I comforted myself that it was still early to think about it.
- Time flies, all of a sudden, this term is over, but I haven’t made any decision yet.
- Without a certain goal to pass the postgraduate examination, I lived an aimless life.
- Everyday I attended classes, did homework, and then started to play computer.
- The comfortable life lets me forget to set a goal and make every effort to achieve it, and even make me forget that I once lived with a goal and made it.
- The goal I once had was to study in Southwest University.
- “We will send good students to study in Southwest University for one year…” It was on the opening ceremony in college that I heard the news for the first time, and since then I have had the goal to go to there.
- I knew only the best students could have to chance, so I told myself, it’s your opportunity and you should try your best to seize it.
- With that goal, I really worked very hard.
- To improve my spoken English, I learned how to pronounce by watching different English videos and took every chance to speak English.
- Even when I was running, I would encourage myself that if I didn’t stop, I would go to Southwest University.
- For unknown reason, I had the faith that I could go there.
- Hard work pays off.
- At last, I passed the interview successfully and studied in Southwest for one year.
- With a strong faith and a certain goal, I succeed.
- But what happened to me now?
- I got up late because of cold.
- I don’t like running anymore, because running is so tiring.
- I am afraid to fail in the postgraduate examination, so I don’t prepare for it.
- Watching the speech made me realize that I was wasting my time!
- In the process of growing up, we often forget to experience, forget our own faith and goal, so we get lost, become timid and narrow-minded.
- But a voice in my heart is telling me that is not what I want!
- I don’t want that I waste my lifetime and don’t know the real meaning of life until die.
- It’s high time that I should consider setting a goal and strive to achieve.
- “Man’s dearest possession is life.
- It is given to him but once, and he must live it so as to feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, never know the burning shame of a mean and petty past.” But how can we live without regrets for wasted years?
- Salmon’s life story tells us that life without faith and goal is terrible and miserable.
- Therefore, we need to have a strong faith and a certain goal, and fight for our goal.
- Only in that way can we be confident enough to say that we don’t waste our time and find what the real meaning of life.
