My dressing-up
- For special occasions people usually wear their Sunday best.
- Women usually put on their cocktail dresses, frocks or evening dresses, while men put on their tuxedos and tail-coats.
- I want to describe you how I was dressed up at one of such occasions.
- It was the day before my Birthday party.
- I was going to have a party for my friends to celebrate my maturity.
- So I wanted to be dressed up to the nines.
- I looked through all the clothes in my wardrobe, but didn’t find anything worthy.
- I wanted to have some new dress.
- I wanted to knock everyone down with a feather.
- Without a moment’s thought I went to the mall to buy a dress for my Birthday party.
- There were lots of boutiques with a great deal of attractive dresses.
- Quite soon I found a very smart dress and went to the fitting room to try it on.
- It was a long close-fitting dress.
- It was made of purpure satin.
- This dress was elegant with a low cut decorated with brilliant precious stones.
- It goes without saying that I looked like a Hollywood star in this fabulous dress.
- However it was too expensive.
- Then I found another dress.
- It was a frock.
- The frock was white with a flowery ornament and a lacy hem.
- It was made of chintz and looked simple but marvelous as well.
- But this dress had one disadvantage.
- It looked like a summer dress, while my Birthday is in February.
- So I decided that I will look unseasonable in this dress.
- Then I tried on the third dress.
- It was a woolen long-sleeved dress with a round neck.
- Although it was very comfortable and has a nice colouring, it seemed to be old-fashioned.
- So after two hours of wandering around the mall I found a superb dress.
- It was a cocktail dress with drapery.
- It was made of plain brown cotton with a chocolate color cast, which matched my eyes.
- It had short sleeves and an aureate zip at the back.
- In a word, it was superb!
- Unfortunately the size was big, so the dress looked baggy on me.
- But I liked it so much, that I bought it and went to the workshop where I asked to take it in.
- While my dress was in a workshop, I went to buy a suitable jacket or a cardigan.
- It was much easier.
- And soon I buy a pretty cream-coloured cashmere cardigan with aureate buttons and three-quarter sleeves.
- My dress was ready in couple of hours.
- I tried it on and I froze open-mouthed in admiration.
- I was so gorgeous in it.
- Finally satisfied I went home.
- The next morning I woke up very early.
- It was my Birthday and I needed quite a lot of time to get dressed up before going to university.
- First of all I put on make-up and started to do my hair.
- I made curls and then fasten them with the help of a beautiful flower-like clip.
- I also fasten my fringe with a bobby pin.
- Then I was ready to put on my new chic dress.
- I am totally in love with different tights and stockings.
- I have a great deal of them: striped, pin-striped, checked, flowery, plain.
- I chose cream-colored tights to go with my cardigan.
- They had an interesting geometrical ornament.
- When I got dressed in my dress and cardigan I was looking in the glass and smarten myself up for some time.
- Then I put on my black leather booties with laces.
- They had high heels about fifteen centimeters and looked trendy.
- And on top of all these I took on my woolen overcoat which had an interesting silhouette.
- So I was ready to go to the university and then right to my Birthday party.
- Throughout the day I was paid a lot of compliments.
- Everyone liked my smart hairdo and elegant outfit.
- In conclusion I wanted to say that dressing up is a very interesting thing to do.
- It is a good opportunity to create your own image with the help of your imagination.
- Of course, you have to spend a lot of forces on it, but in the end you’ll be greatly rewarded by people’s attention and compliments.
