Testo da ivan20 - English
Learning to write
- It’s not easy to write every day.
- Sometimes you just can’t come up with anything, you sit in front of your computer screen and you wait for the inspiration to come to you.
- That’s what I’ve done most of my years as English’s student, and the results were disastrous.
- Though I could read most things and understand them, I couldn’t write almost anything, no matter how simple it was.
- I realized that if I continued acting like that I would never be able to write in English.
- It took me years to get that and many more to put into practice what I had learnt.
- Then in April I decided to write every day, I didn’t worried about neither the subject nor the quality of the text, the important thing was to develop a new skill, and that could only be done through a constant practice.
- I don’t know if there is any scientist study which backs me up, but I’m sure that writing and reading occupy different areas in our brain.
- I’ve learnt out of experience that though reading helps you improve your writing, it can’t replace it.
- You can be a good reader and a horrible writer.
- Any excuse is valid when it comes to using a language.
