The plane ... no! No! ...
Jack, as a quadriplegic , stood in the middle of the street, where the habitual vanity was replaced by panic and fear .
He did not know what to do.
It all happened so suddenly.
He clutched the phone at a loss , and only now he realized that just a moment ago in the chaos of smoke and fire were the people with whom he saw every day , talked , worked side by side, which , in turn , had feelings, dreams , desires, hopes ... and they were destroyed forever.
Jack , refusing to believe in this fact, but anticipating the inevitable , for the first time began to cry.
Now he had to be there with them.
But he's alive , he's just that damn late for an important meeting ... to death ...
But is fate so cruel as to pick someone who he was really expensive ?
He felt his back on someone's warm hand , it was a girl .
She murmured something quick and sobbed , but Jack has been unable to make out anything .
The time was 8.46 .
He saw an unread message on his mobile .
It was from Anna .
There was : "Dear , I waited for the lift to come and met my former classmate .
We have not seen for long time .
I'll be in 15 minutes . Do not worry. Kiss . Your Anna .
" Departure time - 11/09/2001 8.45am .
His despair was not the limit ...

After this terrible tragedy , Jack took a long rehabilitation from his psychologist , and if not the baby Angela (it was the name of the little girl) who lost both parents in that terrible tragedy , he would have just decided to end his life by suicide.
Now he lives far away from New York and educates, as he claims , his guardian angel , who saved his life and gave a small glimmer of hope .
He heads the Foundation for the protection and assistance to children who have been orphaned and involved in charity work around the world ...
But after the funeral of Anna Jack never married ...
