• Structured packing is most perfect type of contact column internals (unlike trays and random packing).

• Advantage of structured packing is low pressure drop per packing height ΔP/H.

• Many scientific works devote on research and development of new regular packing.

• Packing usually is investigated in small scale test plant.

• In this test plants can placed only small pieces of structured packing elements, unlike industrial columns and scrubbers.

• It's one of the large problems for using experimental results for design industrial column and scrubbers.
