The first time when I was confronted with spatial awareness was in an application test – a paper test.

Our task was to observe a given dice from a specific perspective and then to find out which of the other shown dices from another (rotated) perspective fit together.

While some of the applicants were struggling to solve that task, others were immediately ready.

Scientists say the ability simply to rotate any given object in your mind can be trained.

Especially those children who liked to play with cubes or wooden clogs in their childhood might have an advantage.

Engineers must train that skill in order to be successful in their job..Furthermore a good spatial awareness can help you in everyday life, e.g. when driving or walking through a totally new city.

And if you are outstanding good at that you even won't need an electronic navigation system, but instead your navigation will be based on the position of the sun.
