In Burmese, the past tense is expressed using the verb form မှာ (ma).

    In Myanmar, there is no exact equivalent of the past tense in English, so we often use ’ခဲ့သည်’ to express the past tense. for example, went သွားခဲ့သည်။ I saw him yesterday ငါသူ့ကို မနေ့က မြင်ခဲ့သည်။ ate စားခဲ့သည်။ came လာခဲ့သည်။
