![]() | ineedbulgarianOctober 2007 hi plamena,   you make everything seem so simple. i like your style. I've been to Varna 6 times this year and haven't got the heck of your language except for some minor phrases. I think getting over your alphabet is already something. I tink i should get some help!!! |
![]() | PlamenaJuly 2007 Hello, my name is Plamena. I'm bulgarian. I am not a teacher or anything, but I can make some simple lessons. The thing to know about bulgarian is that every leter is read the same (as in german). For example: zdravei is read [zdravei] and not [zdrævei] or something. I don't know how an englishman would read this. And zdravei means hello. If you want to say hello to many people or if you want to be polite you add "te" at the end: zdraveite. "Zdraveite, az sam Plamena" means "Hello, I am Plamena". az means I, sam means am. As you can see the word order is identical here. In a question however it's different. If you want to byu something you ask: "Kolko struva tova?" - "How much does this cost?" How much is one word in bulgarian - kolko, struva means cost and tova is this. In bulgaria we don't use do as in english. We translate do as make or something else according to the meaning. So if you think in broken english - How much costs this you'll think in correct bulgarian PS I want to warn anyone who wants to travel to Bulgaria about our gypsies - they are usually girls - dress ordinary, move in packs and steal your money from your pockets and bags so be very careful. And don't give money to beggars. They only look filthy and sick. They don't want to change anything. While I worked one summer on the city center I learned that they make over 50 euro per day while I put up with nervous clients for 5 euro. Do you think they would give up this life? |
