Introduction

Colorful and delightful, cocktails are an essential part of any young adult's nightlife. They are a great conversation starter, a way to surprise your friends with a personalized drink, and a means to enhance social interactions. Drinking, appreciating, and making cocktails have become more than just basic party skills; they are a way to enjoy a great evening and share your personal taste in life.

With so many cocktail options and techniques, it's hard to truly understand the magic behind them without a comprehensive learning experience. That's why we have created the PET Cocktail Tasting and Making Workshop.

PET's friends, both new and old, have expressed a strong desire to learn about cocktails in a comprehensive and affordable way. We understand that not everyone wants to become a professional mixologist and spend thousands of dollars on courses. That's why we have invited Simon, an IT professional with a passion for mixology and a knack for teaching, to lead this workshop. In just 9 hours, you will gain a deep understanding of cocktail knowledge and culture, and under Simon's guidance, you will learn to make several classic cocktails. By the end of the workshop, you will transform from a cocktail novice to a versatile mixologist who can impress friends at the bar. You may even become the star of your own home cocktail parties, known for your interesting and delicious creations.

Workshop 1: Cocktail Culture and Tasting

What you will learn:

- The history, present, and future of cocktails, understanding cocktail culture
- How to evaluate a cocktail
- Introduction to the bar counter and cocktail tools, practice basic mixology techniques
- How to make a Gin & Tonic, Mojito, and Whiskey Sour
- Self-introduction and sharing memories of your first cocktail

Workshop 2: Cocktail Classification and Social Etiquette

What you will learn:

- The six main cocktail base spirits and various types of cocktails
- Practice techniques such as stirring, shaking, and cutting
- How to make a Tequila Sunrise, Negroni, and Gin Fizz
- Introduction to social etiquette at cocktail events

Workshop 3: Advanced Mixology and Cocktail Parties

What you will learn:

- Introduction to wine, liqueurs, beer, and their roles in cocktails
- How to host a cocktail party at home
- How to create your own signature cocktail
- How to make an Aperol Spritz, Martini, and Cosmopolitan
- Free discussion and sharing of your cocktail journey

Certification Exam: Written Test + Mixology

What you will gain:

- PET Certified Versatile Mixologist Certificate
- Opportunity to become a PET Party intern mixologist and participate in PET's cocktail social events, expanding your network and horizon
- Ability to make free cocktails for your friends and offer paid mixology services to others

Simon - The Artsy / Versatile / Unconventional Gentleman
Simon is a typical versatile young man. After over a decade of working for a well-known American company, he has become an IT guru. He loves running and has completed nine 100-kilometer races. He is also an avid movie lover, watching at least 100 films a year and writing thoughtful reviews. Simon's passion for mixology led him to become a certified mixologist. He has even set up his own private bar at home, where he enjoys making cocktails to reward himself after work and frequently invites friends for ladder climbing sessions.
