TorontoBabel Language & Cultural Exchange Night - MADISON PUB, Wed, May 14, 2025, 7:00 PM

Join us at MADISON PUB, conveniently located behind Spadina Station, for an engaging evening of language and cultural exchange!

Important Note: Please make at least one purchase at the bar. We truly appreciate the complimentary space, but it's essential to support our venue by buying drinks or snacks. This helps us maintain a positive relationship with our hosts, ensuring we can continue to utilize this fantastic space for future gatherings!

We're excited to introduce a Pay What You Can (PWYC) initiative, with a suggested donation of $2. If TorontoBabel has enhanced your language skills, helped you forge new friendships, or fostered a sense of community, we encourage you to contribute. Every little bit helps, and your generosity is greatly valued. Additionally, we will provide nametags where you can write your name, the languages you speak, and those you wish to learn or improve upon.

Cash donations will be accepted by one of our Babel hosts or volunteers at the entrance (not at the bar).

EVENT OVERVIEW

Toronto stands as one of the most diverse cities globally, and TorontoBabel is here to help you explore that diversity! While many language groups focus on a single language, we offer a unique chance to practice multiple languages in one setting. At our gatherings, you'll find native speakers of languages such as French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, German, Polish, Italian, Cantonese, Turkish, Mandarin, Russian, Hindi, Arabic, Farsi, and many more. No matter your proficiency level, from novice to fluent, you are welcome!

HOW IT WORKS

TorontoBabel operates as a language exchange hub. You can share your native language with others while they help you learn theirs. Typically, we have groups focusing on a variety of languages, and we will guide you to those sessions. If you prefer to seek out native speakers of your favorite language independently, feel free to do so!

If you're new to TorontoBabel, please introduce yourself to our wonderful Event Organizers, FARINAZ and TERRY. They will assist you in connecting with native speakers of your language of interest and can also introduce you to those eager to learn your language.
