• Our events strive to achieve a good gender balance, although it may not be perfect.
• We charge a minimal event cost for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it compensates our dedicated hosts for their time and effort. Secondly, it prioritizes the safety of our attendees. By selling tickets, we have a record of attendees through online payments, promoting better behavior and accountability. We believe that free events often lack commitment and can result in poor behavior, such as RSVPing and not attending. Our tickets help us improve safety, estimate attendance numbers more accurately, achieve a better gender mix, and encourage responsible behavior.
• Many free events primarily serve the organizers and their close friends, using them as a platform to market products or services or gain access to members of the opposite gender. We, on the other hand, organize events solely to benefit our members and cover our costs.
