At New To Melbourne, you'll immediately sense the welcoming community vibe; our members are friendly and always eager to greet newcomers. Bring along a friend and dive into language practice with us! Our exchange takes place every Wednesday evening, featuring affordable food and drinks starting at 6 PM—perfect for dinner before the fun begins! 🍻🍟

If this is your first time attending a language exchange (and many haven’t been), we’ve crafted a detailed guide for newcomers based on our 8+ years of experience. It’s a must-read:

===== EVENT FORMAT =====
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you wish to learn. Wear it proudly on your chest with your native language on the right and the languages you’re learning on the left. Then, mingle and exchange languages!
What to Bring: A pen, some paper, and lots of positive energy!
Age Requirement: 18+

===== FREE BEER AND PIZZA FOR VOLUNTEERS! =====
We’re seeking friendly volunteers to help welcome newcomers to our gathering! In exchange for your assistance, we offer free drinks and food (think pizza slices, etc.) along with a friendly crew of fellow volunteers to connect with. If it’s your first time at the event, feel free to apply—many of our volunteers are also new!

We prioritize a safe and welcoming environment for all members. To ensure everyone feels comfortable, we have established some guidelines:
1. This is *not* a dating event; please refrain from soliciting personal contact information. Use meetup.com’s private messaging for follow-ups.
