Event Overview:
Each week, over 150 participants from more than 23 countries gather at our language exchange to discover new languages and forge friendships over drinks. 🍻

At New To Melbourne, you’ll immediately feel the warm and welcoming community vibe. Our members are friendly and eager to help newcomers feel at home. Bring a friend and join us for an enriching language practice session!

Our language exchange is absolutely free and takes place every Wednesday evening. Arrive by 6 PM for delicious, affordable food and drinks to kick off the evening! 🍻🍟

Upon arrival, you’ll receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you wish to learn. Wear it with your native language on the right and the others on the left. Then, mingle and exchange languages!

What to Bring: A pen, paper, and your positive energy!

We are seeking friendly volunteers to assist and welcome newcomers. Enjoy complimentary drinks and food (think pizza wedges!) while making new friends among fellow volunteers. If it’s your first time, feel free to apply—many of our volunteers are newcomers too!

We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. To maintain this atmosphere, we have established a few rules:

1. This is *not* a dating group; please refrain from asking for personal contact information. Use the meetup.com private chat to connect.

2. Advertising other groups/events/tours during our gathering is not permitted.

3. Promoting products or services (e.g., MLM, mentorship) is prohibited. Please do not solicit our attendees for surveys.

4. Avoid adding attendees to WeChat or WhatsApp groups.
