Join us every Wednesday night for an exciting language exchange session where over 250 people from 23+ countries gather to practice new languages and forge new friendships while enjoying a refreshing beer.🍻

Experience the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of New To Melbourne where our community members are always eager to help and welcome new faces. Bring a friend and immerse yourself in language practice with us :-)

Our language exchange sessions are free and take place every Wednesday night. Treat yourself to affordable food & drinks if you arrive at 6 pm and fancy a meal ;-)🍻🍟

What is a language exchange?

If you're new, our language swap offers you the chance to make friends and learn a new language in a casual setting over a drink! The best way to understand is to join us one night - it's more fun than explanation.

Arrive at 6 pm to start your language practice as groups form.

===== EVENT FORMAT =====

Upon arrival, receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you wish to learn. Place them on your chest with your native language on the right and target languages on the left. Engage with others and exchange languages!

Bring: Pen, paper, and good vibes!

Join our team of friendly volunteers to welcome newcomers with free beer/drinks, food (like pizza wedges), and a supportive community. First-timers are encouraged to apply - many of our volunteers are new too :-)
