The warm and welcoming community atmosphere at New To Melbourne is truly remarkable. Our group members are friendly, helpful, and always open to new additions. Feel free to bring a friend and join us for an enjoyable language practice session :-)

Our language exchange event is completely free and takes place every Wednesday evening. If you arrive at 6pm, you can also grab some affordable food and drinks if you're in the mood for dinner. Cheers!🍻🍟

What is a language exchange?

For those new to our group, a language exchange is a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and learn a new language while enjoying a drink. To truly understand the experience, it's best to join us for one of our events rather than explaining it in words.

Arrive at 6pm to engage in language practice while groups are still forming.

===== EVENT FORMAT =====

Upon arrival, you will receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you are interested in learning. Place the badge on your chest with your native language on the right and the languages you are learning on the left. Then, go ahead and meet new people to exchange languages!

What to bring: Pen and paper, and a positive attitude!

===== FREE BEER AND PIZZA FOR FRIENDLY VOLUNTEERS! =====

We are seeking friendly volunteers who can help welcome newcomers to the group. As a volunteer, you will receive free beer, drinks, and food (such as pizza wedges) while enjoying the company of our welcoming team. If this is your first time attending our event, you are more than welcome to apply as our volunteers are often new members too :-)

We take pride in creating a safe and friendly environment for our events, where attendees feel comfortable and can easily make new friends. To ensure the well-being of our group members, we have established the following rules:
