Join us at our language exchange event where over 250 people from 23+ countries gather every week to practice a new language, make friends, and enjoy a beer.🍻

When you attend New To Melbourne, you'll immediately notice the warm and inclusive community atmosphere. Our group members are friendly, helpful, and always eager to welcome new faces. Bring a friend and join us for an evening of language practice and fun :-)

Our language exchange is completely free and takes place every Tuesday night. If you arrive at 6pm, you can also indulge in affordable food and drinks before the event starts.🍻🍟

What is a language exchange?
If you're new to our group, a language exchange is an opportunity to meet new friends and learn a new language while enjoying a drink. It's best experienced in person, so we invite you to join us for one of our events.

Arrive at 6pm to engage in language practice while groups are being formed.

===== EVENT FORMAT =====
Upon arrival, you will receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you're interested in learning. Place the badge on your chest with your native language on the right side and the languages you're learning on the left. Then, start meeting people and exchanging languages!

What to bring: Pen and paper, along with a positive attitude!

===== FREE BEER AND PIZZA FOR FRIENDLY VOLUNTEERS! =====
We are seeking friendly volunteers to assist us in welcoming newcomers to the group. As a volunteer, you'll receive complimentary beer, drinks, and food (such as pizza wedges) while mingling with a supportive team of fellow volunteers. If you're attending our event for the first time, you're also welcome to apply, as our volunteers are often newcomers too :-)
