Join our vibrant language exchange event where over 250 participants from 23+ countries gather every week to practice a new language and forge new friendships, all while enjoying a refreshing beer.🍻

When you attend New To Melbourne, you'll immediately feel the warm and welcoming community atmosphere. Our group members are friendly, helpful, and always happy to welcome new faces. So bring a friend and join us for a fun-filled language practice session :-)

Our language exchange event is completely free and takes place every Tuesday evening. If you arrive at 6pm, you can also grab some delicious and affordable food and drinks to enjoy while you practice your language skills. Cheers!🍻🍟

What is a language exchange?
If you're new to our group, a language exchange is an opportunity to make new friends and learn a new language while enjoying a drink. To fully grasp the experience, it's best to join us for an evening—actions speak louder than words!

Arrive at 6pm to participate in language practice sessions while groups are being formed.

Upon arrival, you'll receive a badge indicating your native language on the right and the languages you're interested in learning on the left. Use this badge to connect with others and engage in language exchanges!

What to bring: Pen and paper, along with good vibes!
Age Group: 18+

We take pride in providing a safe and open environment for people to make new friends. To ensure the well-being of our members, we have established the following rules:

1. This is *not* a dating group, so please refrain from asking for personal contact information. Use the meetup.com private chat if you wish to connect.
2. Avoid promoting other groups, events, or tours on this page or during/after our events.
3. Do not advertise products or services (e.g., MLM/mentorship) or request attendees to complete surveys.
4. Please refrain from adding people to WeChat/WhatsApp groups without their consent.
