Level 1: Present Tense[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]
In Japanese, the present tense is expressed in the dictionary form of the verb.
For example:
Japanese | Pronunciation | North Azerbaijani |
---|---|---|
食べる (taberu) | ta.be.ɾu | yemək |
飲む (nomu) | no.mu | içmək |
見る (miru) | mi.ɾu | baxmaq |
話す (hanasu) | ha.na.su | danışmaq |
To form a sentence, just put the verb at the end of it:
- 私は食べる (watashi wa taberu) - I eat
- 彼女は飲む (kanojo wa nomu) - She drinks
- 私たちは見る (watashitachi wa miru) - We see
- あなたは話す (anata wa hanasu) - You talk
Negative Form[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]
To make a negative sentence, you need to change the verb to its negative form. In Japanese, the negative form is made by adding ない (nai) to the verb stem.
For example:
Japanese | Pronunciation | North Azerbaijani |
---|---|---|
食べる (taberu) | ta.be.ɾu | yemək |
飲む (nomu) | no.mu | içmək |
見る (miru) | mi.ɾu | baxmaq |
話す (hanasu) | ha.na.su | danışmaq |
To form a sentence, just put the verb at the end of it and add ない (nai):
- 私は食べない (watashi wa tabenai) - I don't eat
- 彼女は飲まない (kanojo wa nomanai) - She doesn't drink
- 私たちは見ない (watashitachi wa minai) - We don't see
- あなたは話さない (anata wa hanasanai) - You don't talk

食べる (taberu) | ta.be.ɾu | yemək |
飲む (nomu) | no.mu | içmək |
見る (miru) | mi.ɾu | baxmaq |

- あなたは話した (anata wa hanashita) - You talked
Negative Form[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]
To make a negative sentence in the past tense, you need to change the verb to its past negative form. In Japanese, the past negative form is made by adding なかった (nakatta) to the verb stem.
For example:
Japanese | Pronunciation | North Azerbaijani |
---|---|---|
食べる (taberu) | ta.be.ɾu | yemək |
飲む (nomu) | no.mu | içmək |
見る (miru) | mi.ɾu | baxmaq |
話す (hanasu) | ha.na.su | danışmaq |
To form a sentence, just put the verb at the end of it and add なかった (nakatta):
- 私は食べなかった (watashi wa tabenakatta) - I didn't eat
- 彼女は飲まなかった (kanojo wa nomanakatta) - She didn't drink
- 私たちは見なかった (watashitachi wa minakatta) - We didn't see
