<blockquote>”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا”</blockquote> | |||
In spoken Arabic language, you should take into account two things: | |||
#The gender: whether it’s male or female, | |||
#Singular ( only one), Dual ( only two), or plural ( more than two). | |||
In spoken English, there are only singular and plural. | |||
So, ”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا” | |||
all of the above have the same meaning which is mean ”THAT” OR "THIS", but we differentiate among them according to the previous two points I mentioned, as follows: | |||
*ذٰلِكَ :- it refers to a male + singular | |||
*ذٰلِكِ:- refers to a female + singular | |||
*ذٰلِكُمْ:- refers to males + plural | |||
*ذٰلِكُنَّ:- refers to females + plural | |||
*ذٰلِكُمَا:- refers to( 2 males) or (2 females) or (1 male and 1 female) + dual | |||

HOW TO USE THE PRONOUNS IN STANDARD ARABIC
”ذٰلِكُمْ”, ”ذٰلِكُنَّ” ,”ذٰلِكِ”, ”ذٰلِكَ”, ”ذٰلِكُمَا”
In spoken Arabic language, you should take into account two things:
- The gender: whether it’s male or female,
