Free Audio Resources with Transcripts

Hi Polyglots! 😊

This is a list of listening materials offering free access to full transcripts of most episodes without registration. Language not being taught must be minimal in the audio. No mainstream media.

If you have material without transcripts, you can try speech recognition with Google or IBM, mentioned HERE. They are not always reliable so you have to spot the SR engine's mistakes from time to time.

Being able to use SR doesn't mean that every material suits you. You need to find materials that meet your vocabulary level and grammar skill, otherwise you would be frustrated.

Similarly, if you have written material without audio, you can use text-to-speech.

You can find the podcasts with programs mentioned HERE.

If the website has no download button for the audio, then you can right-click and select “View page source” (Firefox), find “.mp3” or other audio extensions in the page, copy the URL and paste into a new tab. Go to it, then you can right-click on the play bar and download it.

In addition, if you want to find listening materials with daily colloquial language, you can go to THERE and find Slice of life, where some video channels have embedded subtitles in the videos.

Podcasts marked with [PL] means its content is under public license.

In progress.
