Mercer, one of the largest human resource consulting firms, has released its annual survey of cities that offer the best quality of life in the world.

This ranking is one of the most complete of its kind.
It is established every year to help multinationals and other employers provide adequate benefits to their employees when they are sent on an international assignment, according to Mercer.
London and New York are not at the top of the rankings.
Paris occupies the 38th place in this ranking, behind Brisbane (37th) and ahead of Lyon (39th).
Mercer has examined 450 cities around the world on several criteria to list the cities offering the best quality of life:
- The socio-political environment (political stability, crime, respect of the law ...)
- The economic environment (exchange control, banking services ...)
- The socio-cultural environment (accessibility and censorship of the media, restrictions on individual freedoms ...)
- Medical and health situation (medical supplies and services, infectious diseases, waste and wastewater management, air pollution ...)
- Schools and education (levels and availability of international schools ...)
- Public services and transport (electricity, water, public transport, congestion ...)
- Entertainment (restaurants, theaters, cinemas, sports and leisure ...)
- Consumer goods (food availability, daily consumption items, cars ...)
- Housing (rentals, appliances, furniture, maintenance services ...)
- Natural environment (climate, history of natural disasters ...)
230 cities are in Mercer's ranking.
Here are the top 10:
1. Vienna, Austria
This city dominates Mercer's ranking 1st for the seventh time in a row. Located east of the Danube, Vienna is the 7th largest city in terms of population within the city limits within the EU. There is a very rich cultural life.
2. Zurich, Switzerland
The city is known as the economic and cultural core of the country, which regularly ranks at the top of the rankings of places offering the best quality of life in the world.
3. Auckland, New Zealand
The city is located near two major ports and is at the top of this ranking, thanks to its well-balanced economy and idyllic environment. It is also a very safe place.
4. Munich, Germany

5. Vancouver, Canada

9. Copenhagen, Denmark
The city has recently been cited as one of the best places to live happily on Earth. Originally, Copenhagen is a fishing village but has turned into a city with a strong urban and cultural development. She is known for her work-life balance.
