French is often called the language of love. You are going to learn some vocabulary related to love and Valentine's day

- L'amitié - friendship
- Mon amour - my love
- Tomber Amoureux - to fall in love
- Fêter la Saint Valentin - celebrate valentine's day
- Mon chéri, ma chérie - darling
- Je t'aime - I am in love with you
- Je l'aime - I am in love with him/her
- Je suis amoureux de toi - I am in love with you
- Veux-tu m'épouser ? - Will you marry me?
- embrasser - to kiss
- Tu es la femme de ma vie - you are the woman of my life
Expressions
Vivre d’amour et d’eau fraiche
- Literally: to live on love and fresh water
- Meaning: to be in love and not care about anything else
- Example: Depuis qu'il l'a rencontré, il vit d'amour et d'eau fraiche.
Avoir un coup de foudre
- Litteraly: a struck of lightning
- Meaning: To fall in love at first sight
- Example: Sa rencontre avec elle a été un vrai coup de foudre
Qui trop embrasse mal étreint
- Litteraly: he that too much embraceth, holds little
- Meaning: If you undertake too many things at once, you risk failure. It can be translated by "Do not bite off more than you can chew"
- Example: Tu devrais te concentrer sur un seul sujet. En effet, qui trop embrasse mal étreint.
