==What is the Lorient Interceltic Festival?==
* It is an unmissable musical event in early August in southern Brittany (France). It was created in 1971 under the name of "Fête des Cornemuses". It brings together the Celtic nations of Asturias, Galicia (Spain), Acadia (Canada), Brittany (France), Cornwall, Wales, Isle of Man (GB) and the countries: Australia, Argentina, Cuba, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and Mexico. Each year a different nation is honored. The first was Galicia in 1994 and the last Brittany in 2020 for the 50th anniversary.
* In 1972 it became "Inter-Celtic Feasts of the Lorient Bagpipes".
* From 30,000 to its birth, today it attracts nearly 800,000 visitors.

C'est un rendez-vous musical  incontournable du début août en Bretagne sud.
 
Il est crée en 1971 sous le nom de "Fête des Cornemuses".
 
Il devient en 1972 "Fêtes interceltiques des Cornemuses de Lorient".
 
De 30 000 à sa naissance il draine , aujourd'hui, près de 800 000 visiteurs.
 
En 1996, la Commission Européenne le classe parmi les 13 plus grands festivals européens.
 
Il regroupe les nations Celtiques des Asturies, de Galice( Espagne ), d'Acadie ( Canada), de Bretagne (France), de  Cornouailles, Pays de Galles,                  Ïle de Man (G-B) et les pays : Australie, Argentine, Cuba,  Irlande, Ecosse, Nouvelle-Zélande et Mexique.
 
Chaque année une nation différente est mise à l'honneur. La première fut la Galice en 1994 et la dernière la Bretagne en 2020 pour le 50ème anniversaire.
