Sankranti

Sankranti is one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals in Telugu culture. Also known as Pongal, this festival marks the beginning of the harvest season and the transition of the sun into the zodiac sign of Capricorn. Sankranti typically falls in mid-January and is observed over a period of four days.

Customs and Traditions

There are many customs and traditions associated with Sankranti. One of the most popular rituals is the preparation of a traditional sweet dish called "Pongal." This dish is made with boiled rice and lentils, and is typically garnished with nuts, raisins, and jaggery.
