Expressing Your Opinion

Giving your opinion is an important part of communication. It allows you to share your thoughts and feelings with others. In Sinhala, there are several ways to express your opinion.

Positive Opinions

When expressing a positive opinion, you can use the following words:

Sinhala Pronunciation English Translation
ඔව් ow Yes
ඔව්නාවට ow-na-waat Definitely
ඔව්නාවත් ow-na-wath Absolutely
ඔව්නාවත් නැත්තේ ow-na-wath na-thth-e No doubt
ඔව්නාවත් නැත්තේ නැත ow-na-wath na-thth-e na-th Certainly not

Negative Opinions

When expressing a negative opinion, you can use the following words:

නැත na-th No
නැත්තේ na-thth-e Not really
