Forms of the Verb "Be"

The verb "be" is used to express existence or a state of being. In Telugu, the verb "be" has three forms: అవును (avunu), ఉంది (undi) and ఉండి (undi).

Using the Verb "Be" in Sentences

  • Person 2: నేను తెలుగు పఠించుతున్నాను (Nenu telugu paathinchutunnana) (I am learning Telugu).
  • Person 1: నీకు తెలుగు మాట్లాడుతుంది (Neeku telugu maatlaadutundi) (You are speaking Telugu).
  • Person 2: నీకు తెలుగు పఠించుతుంది (Neeku telugu paathinchutundi) (You are learning Telugu).
