Cebuano Grammar - Give your Opinion

Hi Cebuano learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn how to give your opinion in Cebuano. We will look at the different ways to express your opinion and how to use them in a sentence.

Expressing Your Opinion

Giving your opinion in Cebuano is quite simple. There are two main ways to do it: using the words mahinungdanon or mahimong.

The word mahinungdanon is used when you agree with something. For example, if someone says "It's a nice day today", you can reply with "Mahinungdanon" to show that you agree.

The word mahimong is used when you disagree with something. For example, if someone says "It's a bad day today", you can reply with "Mahimong" to show that you disagree.

Example Sentences

Cebuano Pronunciation English Translation
Mahinungdanon mah-hee-nuhng-dah-nohn I agree
Mahimong mah-hee-mohng I disagree
Ang kahayag mao ang mahinungdanon ahng kah-hah-yahg mah-oh ahng mah-hee-nuhng-dah-nohn The view is good
Ang kahayag dili mahimong ahng kah-hah-yahg dee-lee mah-hee-mohng The view is not good

You can also use the words mahinungdanon and mahimong to express your opinion about a person or situation. For example, if someone asks you what you think of their new haircut, you can say "Mahinungdanon" to show that you like it.
