Korean Vocabulary - Drinks

Hi Korean learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn the most important Korean words related to drinks. Knowing these words will help you to order drinks in a restaurant or cafe, and understand what people are saying when they talk about drinks. Let's get started! 🤗

Drinks

Here is a list of the most common drinks in Korean.

Korean Pronunciation English Translation
커피 [kʰɔpi] Coffee
[tɕʰa] Tea
맥주 [mɛk͈dʑu] Beer
소주 [sʰodʑu] Soju
주스 [dʑusʰ] Juice

You can also use the word "물" ([mul]) which means "water".

Questions

When ordering drinks, you might hear some of the following questions.

뭐 하실래요? [mwo hasilɾeːjo] What would you like?
어떤걸 원하시나요? [ɔtʰʌnk͈ɔl wʌnhasinaːjo] What would you like?
음료는 뭐드릴까요? [ɯmɾjʌn mwodɾilk͈aːjo] What drinks do you have?
어떤 음료를 원하시나요? [ɔtʰʌn ɯmɾjʌl wʌnhasinaːjo] What kind of drink would you like?
얼마에요? [ɔlmaːejo] How much is it?
