Overview
In North Azerbaijani, plurals are formed by adding a suffix to the end of the word. The suffixes used depend on the gender and number of the noun.
Masculine Plurals
Masculine nouns take the suffix -lar when forming plurals. For example:
- ev (house) → evlar (houses)
- kitab (book) → kitablar (books)
- adam (man) → adamlar (men)
Feminine Plurals
Feminine nouns take the suffix -lar or -lər when forming plurals. For example:
- qadın (woman) → qadınlar (women)

- meyvə (fruit) → meyvələr (fruits)
Neuter Plurals
Neuter nouns take the suffix -lar or -lər when forming plurals. For example:

Irregular Plurals
Some nouns have irregular plurals. For example:
