The Nominative Case in Armenian

The nominative case is the "default" case in Armenian. Subjects of sentences are placed in normative case. Any subject of a sentence, whether definite or indefinite, singular or plural is in the nominative case. Examples:

1) Մարդը քայլում է։ The man is walking.

2) Դու աղջիկ ունես։ You have a daughter.

3) Մեծ շներն ուտում են միս։ Big dogs are eating meat.


In these sentences Մարդը, Դու, and շներն are in normative case
