As a volunteer, you will often be considered an “important person” at a meeting, regardless of how relevant you are to the purpose of the meeting. This means that you may be asked to sit up front and/or say a few words at the beginning or end of the meeting, just greeting, thanking, and saying how happy you are to be there.
