Grammar Point: Compound Nouns

In Danish, we often use compound nouns to create new words. In this lesson, we introduced a number of compound nouns related to science and technology. For example:

  • Teknologi - Technology - made up of Tekno + logi
  • Robotteknologi - Robotics - made up of Robot + teknologi
  • Datalogi - Computer Science - made up of Data + logi
  • Kunstig intelligens - Artificial Intelligence - made up of Kunstig + intelligens

Notice how the two words are put together to create a new word. This is important to remember when encountering new vocabulary in Danish.
