Language/Catalan/Grammar/Future-Tense
Hi Catalan learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn about the future tense in Catalan. We will look at how to form the future tense, when to use it and some examples of its use.
The future tense is used to talk about events that will happen in the future. It is formed by using the verb "haurà" (will have) followed by the infinitive form of the verb. For example:
- Haurà de fer-ho = He will have to do it
The future tense can also be formed by using the verb "anirà" (will go) followed by the infinitive form of the verb. For example:
- Anirà a comprar-ho = He will go to buy it
The future tense is used to talk about events that will happen in the future, such as plans, predictions, and intentions. For example:
- Demà aniré a la platja = Tomorrow I will go to the beach
It can also be used to express probability or likelihood. For example:
- No hauràs de preocupar-te = You won't have to worry
The future tense can also be used to express politeness or courtesy. For example:
- Hauria de fer-ho = I should do it
