Rules
In Afrikaans, nouns are either masculine or feminine. There are some rules that can help you determine the gender of a noun.
- Nouns ending in -a are usually feminine.
- Nouns ending in -e are usually masculine.
- Nouns ending in -ie are usually feminine.
- Nouns ending in -er are usually masculine.
- Nouns ending in -or are usually masculine.
- Nouns ending in -uur are usually masculine.
