The aim of this page is to build a comprehensive language list to replace the old list on the polyglotclub site.
We have to create a new list in the columns polyglotclub2 and polyglotclub2_lib to replace the old list (column polyglotclub) with the help of the other lists: community1, community2, wikipedia and wikipedia2.
Columns description
- polyglotclub: OLD LIST : do not modify it
- community1 and community2: they come from 2 well known language communities so those lists "should" be of good quality.
- Wikipedia: source
- Wikipedia2 and Wikipedia2_lib: source. The 2 columns stay together. Wikipedia2_lib is the language name written in the original language.
- polyglotclub2: NEW LIST (language name in English)
- polyglotclub2_lib: NEW LIST(language name written in the original language)
Limits
- The number of languages must be lower than 500 for technical reasons.
- Some languages from Wikipedia2 sources are "dead languages". Is it necessary to add them?
- Some languages are only spoken: should we add them?
[THE LIST IS BEING EDITED, IT WILL BE ADDED HERE SOON]
