Conjugation

The verb "have" in Romanian is "a avea". It is an irregular verb, so it does not follow the same conjugation pattern as regular verbs. Here is the conjugation of the verb "avea" in the present tense:

Tu ai aveți
El/Ea are au

Examples

Let's look at some examples of how the verb "avea" is used in different contexts.

  • Person 1: Ce ai? (What do you have?)
  • Person 2: Am o carte. (I have a book.)
  • Person 1: Aveți un pix? (Do you have a pen?)
  • Person 2: Da, avem. (Yes, we have.)
  • Person 1: Are el o mașină? (Does he have a car?)

Other Uses

The verb "avea" can also be used to express possession or ownership. For example:
