A Simple Cultural and English Lesson About Baseball in America


Baseball is a game which has been played in the United States dating back to the nineteenth century. Maybe even before that... in one form or another!


Organized teams have played baseball since before the American Civil War!


Baseball is usually played with a wooden bat and a hard ball, though there are also plastic bats and balls (for safer usage).


Children play baseball in their backyards, usually with plastic bats and balls. Sometimes they even play baseball in the street! When no cars are coming!


It would be good for you to learn more about baseball. There are many baseball terms used in everyday American life! These terms are good for your vocabulary! Plus baseball means a lot to Americans, culturally! Even spiritually!
