World Children's Day

54 Articles, set out in the Charter of the United Nations, include conventions and provisions relating to the recognition of inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family, which is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.

The provisions of the Convention cover 3 pillars:

  1. Benefits that guarantee the right to health and access to education, social security, and benefits for an adequate standard of living.
  2. Protection, which covers the child from all forms of abuse, discrimination, exploitation, injustice, conflict and conflict.
  3. Participation, which recognizes the right of the child to have his / her opinion taken into account, to have information in order to be able to decide on issues that concern him/her.

Freedom in shaping and expressing his views.

On November 20, 1989, the UN General Assembly unanimously voted on the fundamental step of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In this condition, any person under the age of 18 is defined as a child.

World Day for the Rights of the Child was established by UNICEF on November 20 of each year.

In Greece, Children's Day is celebrated on December 11 - the birthday of UNICEF, which was founded on December 11, 1946 to help the children of Europe, the Middle East and China after the end of World War II.

Greek Song

I present to you a Greek song, symbolic, which as a teacher was part of the education of my students.

Greek English

Το τραγούδι του κλόουν

The clown's song

You have nowhere to sleep

borrow my shoe

you have nowhere to warm up

lend my heart

you have nowhere to drink water

he thirsted for my tears

you have nowhere to dream

borrow my dreams.

I hide deep in my pockets

two loaves of bread,

I hide the sun, the birds

and a white jasmine

and everything will be done tomorrow

loaves, colors

to satiate the children

eyes and mouths.
